It's like Tears for Fears, The Smiths, and The Strokes had a three-way! So good!

Recently (in early 2023), I started hearing this song in my neighborhood coffee shop. I had no idea what it was, only that it sounded like a CLASSIC, all warm and melodic and emotional. I couldn't believe I hadn't heard it before. I finally tracked it down and learned of their fate. WTF. So sad, yet so inspiring that they left this behind. It's a top ten indie classic forever. Period.

Stephen started writing this song when he was very young. His mom passed away when he was a kid, so this is about her. A lot of the songs are about his mom.

2:48
I have never listened to this in my life. But that part brings much unfamiliar nostalgia like something I have known in my childhood.

2:48 this part makes me think of many things:
1. Nostalgic memories from my childhood where I felt so happy.
2. The times where I met amazing people in my life and who till this day are still with me.
3. Specific birthdays.
4. High school.
5. My self development.

This has to be the saddest ways ive discovered a band… all of their songs are amazing and im so upset that we will never see them in person ever again or get to hear new songs from these two beautiful souls. Rest in peace boys❤️

Heard this band on Spotify, instantly fell in love only to find out they tragically passed away in a car crash. Wtf! Truly horrible. RIP guys and thanks for giving me some awesome songs to jam to.

2:48 is magical because it does something that great riffs do on their own. It tells a story.

This song sounds straight from the 80s, I love everything about it

This brings so much unfamiliar nostalgia and sadness. It feels like it’s late at night but the moon is bright, you’re laying down looking at it through a window with breeze gently blowing across your face but at camp. 😟😭

I don't want to sound overdramatic, but the more I listen to this, the more I'm convinced it's one of the best singles of the 21st century.

Rest in peace lads I've listened for years and never knew only found out today, so sad we lost such young lives and lost what would have been such a unique sound for many more years to come

If Spotify hadn't randomly played this song, I would have never known this duo.
I remember I immediately fell in love with their music and googled them for more information, only to find out they had sadly passed away two years before: I was really heartbroken as if I had just lost two of my best friends.
Everytime I listen to their music I feel both crushed and happy and I can't shake the bittersweet sensation that they left some great songs to us but that we won't be able to find out what else they had in store for their fans...
I can totally see them in a parallel universe still composing other beautiful songs and me going to their concerts...  🥺

It’s weird when your favorite song goes from being obscure by most people to having a couple million views from tiktok. Glad these guys are finally being acknowledged, fly high.

Lyrics:

I guess I knew this would happen to you
Inside I did what I refused to know the truth
I'm heading back inside sitting alone with you
I think I know what's wrong
My friends put on their bravest face
The tails between their legs is only out of place
I bet their mothers let them know what I'm about to face
Keep your mouth zipped, son
Baby I've been there before
I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone
And now I'm still hanging on
I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was
Tell me all important stuff
What's your favourite colour?
What makes you so tough?
Please don't let go when you've had enough
I'm on my knees
Baby I've been there before
I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone
And now I'm still hanging on
I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was
Baby I've been there before
I was at the point where all I really wanted was someone
And now I'm still hanging on
I was at the end of every tether waiting for what once was
Waiting for my love
Waiting for
