Dear Matt I am big fan and watching you now but write with a troubled heart. I just found out my uncle back in the UK was a big fan also and when we spoke last time we were talking about how much we liked your work and videos and how much enjoyment we both got from you. I am a mechanic and he was a builder(construction worker) so we appreciated the type of work you do. I sadly found out he died suddenly yesterday and we would have both watched you today and spoken about it most likely. I write this to Thank You for entertaining us both and small honour to my uncle and the working men of the world who keep us going. R.I.P. Sean Murphy.

I’m a roofer, you picked the right color for the roof. In ten years when the leafs lay and the rain saturates the leafs, you won’t notice the difference as much. The house is the right color for the surrounding trees. Looks fabulous. Watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸🦅 ! No Snow Just Breeze !

You have really become an amazing YouTuber I remember watching you repair the muffler on the forklift in the small garage and now look how much you’ve grown. It’s so cool to see someone do well I look forward to you and scrappy videos each week, thank you for sharing your journey

On a 60x45 foot shop, we built. We ran all the roof gutters and drains into two polyethylene holding tanks. The owner used the water for his gardens and lawn as well as a ready source for fire-fighting.

Plumbing and electrical ! Before you install drywall consider running some extra empty 2" pvc conduits to various locations for future projects. If you don't ever use them they won't be an issue. It's difficult to imagine everything you'll ever want in the future but this will aid you down the road if needed. Love the house and congratulations on your dream home !

Matt, I built my house and here are a few tips. Make some wire and pipe passageways (chases) between the floors and attic and basement, being sure to firestop them. That way you can put in new tech or even bypass bad HVAC tubes, etc.. In places where you may want to rearrange or add circuits for coax or network cable or fiber, put in some gray elect boxes and run gray plastic pipe down into the basement ceiling. Pre-conduit wall TV set mountings and don't forget to and an AC outlet. Make sure everything is grounded. The electric company drop is the best ground in most places. Let them take the lightning strikes. Do put in a solid copper ground rod as long as possible and bond it to the power feed. Make provision for a slab to mount a Genset and transfer switch where the power feed comes in. Don't consider one of those old gensets you've got. Run it off propane. Make sure your new house and workshop don't overload your REA feed. They can change the transformer to higher voltages if that happens. I still live in my house after 40 years and it costs me $50 per month to own since over 65 get a tax break in our county. It's all electric so it's a hundred or so. Cheap retirement.

Those men earned every bit of the money they charged you. Great to see a well run company . Nothing wrong with the roof color and i like the horizontal siding. Nice to call it home.

Matt I don't blame you for not showing the inside of your new home I would do the same thing thanks for being a real person and staying true to who you are.

hey Matt, the one thing I have learnt is that perfection is your enemy. Even if it can be attained it lasts only a heartbeat and can never be revived. I do as good as I can or as good as I can be bothered and just be happy with that, no regrets.

Mat, coming along nicely! You mention working in the semi-dark. Been working in the dark all my life! Keep up the great work and rescues. Thank you for the Videos

I'm impressed with your quicky screed. Most of us don't have a piece of 14" steel pipe laying around. Your house build is fantastic. I was able to do the same thing about 20 years ago and its a very rewarding experience.

Congratulations to you and your family.

Matt, I’ve been watching from the church renovation days. It’s amazing to recall watching you work in a small garage fixing an old snow blower. What a treat to see what your talent in mechanical repair, video taping / editing and just plain friendly chat has turned into. Loving that you shared the house build with all of us. Eva must be thrilled!

I know you don’t want to show all of the house build but I appreciate the content. Seeing the toys you fix put to good use is always satisfying

Hey Matt, nice work! Just a suggestion, to prevent "Fail Army" events, heat your porch concrete, on a timer. This prevents ice forming and the eventual slip ups!
