Hi guys! In today's video I show you how my Wealthsimple Invest portfolio has performed over the past four months compared to Wealthsimple Trade. In a previous video, I purchased two ETFs using Wealthsimple Trade at the same time that I invested using Wealthsimple Invest. Four months later, I compare Wealthsimple Invest vs Trade and show you real results of my investments. If you are curious to know which #roboadvisor or trading platform you should use to invest in the #stockmarket and what differences there are between Wealthsimple Invest vs Trade, this video is for you!

Investing in the stock market is the best option to make a passive income. Virtually all the markets are crazy, most people pay more attention to the shiniest position on the graph, I'm keeping a diversified portfolio.

this was not a fair comparison as the allocation of VSP and HXQ are not heavily invested in bonds/debt like your level three on wealth simple invest. debt/bonds are a more stable option in the market but have significantly less potential for upside.

Personally, you shouldn't compare your invest (Level 3) to your trade (ETFs). They are completely different realms. If you had changed your invest risk level to 8, you'd have more equities that hold ETFs to make a fair comparison between invest and trade.

hi, good video thanks. I use mainly the WS web for invest exactly because of the low risk levels. I am currently sitting on 20% returns so far on level 9 and loving it.

I just watched the original invest video, and they gave you a crazy low risk tolerance because you said you were new to investing and needed the money in 1-3 years. No wonder your returns were so low.

When I opened my account a few months ago saying I needed the money in 15 years and had more than zero investing experience they put me at a 7 or 8. (I later switched it to 10).

Wow amazing results. ETFs are really taking a chunk out of mutual funds (and probably roboadvisors too)! I don't know why anyone would be investing in mutual funds after this. Look forward to the updated results in a few months!

Glad I found your channel -- great content! I've been heavy into Wealthsimple Invest and Trade myself recently (tapered down with Questrade).

On WS Invest, I'd like to hear your take on the different investment profiles: Standard, Socially Responsible, and Halal. Which one of those would you recommend over the others for greater long-term growth?

Hi, Thanks for this informative video. How do I know the MER or any other hidden fees when I purchase any ETFs from invest app. Appreciate your answer 🙏

Wait their highest risk Invest tolerance on the app is 50%+ bonds? Wow that's awful. Anyways, this is an apples to orange comparison Alexandra. You're investing in a 100% equity ETF with a fee of less than like 0.10% vs a portfolio which has a fee of 0.50% and is less than 60% equities. A better comparison would be to using the full risk portfolio which is 90% equity I think on Wealthsimple Invest and then compare it to a similar ETF on trade such as VEQT or XEQT.

But one month will just be fluctuations and make no difference, can't see results until you go at least multiple years. And in that case, there is no way that the Invest one will be able to match the performance of a similar ETF which has half or less of the fees which adds up to a lot over years.

Also I don't know about investing in an all-market ETF and then topping it off with another tech ETF on top. Tech is already so overweighed in an ETF like VFV so you're really just overweighing one sector. You said tech has performed well which is true but industries cycle and you can't use their past performance alone, maybe in the next decade banking will outdo tech. Right now you're already starting to see it with tech companies struggling a bit and new commodity cycles beginning in oil/energy and it looks like the same is about to happen with uranium or base metals or gold mining industries/ETFs. People usually just hold companies or ETFs in these industries until they go on a bull run and then they sell, they aren't going to hold them until retirement like you would with VFV. So I'd say it's the same with tech, holding it in a bull cycle which the past decade has been but then holding it permanently....I dunno about that that feels risky if anything.

Nice to see the results! I was wondering, would you consider doing a video about how to buy Cardano in Canada? Do you think Wealthsimple will add it in their list of cryptocurrencies? Thank you!
