If you're in the market for an electric SUV from Mercedes, you are not short of choice. And if you want a very posh electric SUV from Mercedes, it comes down to opting for either the flagship EQS SUV, or the also very fancy EQE SUV. So what are the differences between these two models, and is it worth spending extra to get the EQS?

In which CarGurus UK head-to-head test, Vicky Parrott answers precisely that question, by bringing EQS SUV and EQE SUV together and examining the differences between the two models.

This was an excellent review! I really enjoyed it, you're a great reviewer!

they didn't say it here, good for them, but we mostly hear car reviewers complain about battery size and efficiency, only to complain the cars don't look like cars anymore because they've been designed with efficiency in mind. Manufacturers can't change the laws of nature, now can they?
But this lady did a great job.

Great video. I find the EQE SUV very tempting as a luxury car, it’s so well thought out if you don’t go for the Hyperscreen. What’s especially good is the floors are not too high like they are in many EVs.

Should be some great deals to be had considering the number of used models languishing on dealer forecourt’s and 0% finance on new ones they can’t shift

Great review. I went with the EQS over the EQE and don’t regret it. I agree with the reviewer’s comments.

If You can afford a EQE then just go for EQS. Dealers are selling EQS at least 30k below MSRP. So the price difference between both is very less

Buyers can't get enough of them? Overpriced, oversized electric I don't think people will be rushing to buy them..

Totally agree that efficiency should be the focus but you're unlikely to achieve it with bluff, heavy SUVs

Great review. Thanks. I’ll never pay that much for a car and love my Model Y. Still enjoy seeing your reviews.

They both drive so quietly that if you listen very carefully you can hear the price deflating like a punctured zeppelin.

Don't forget that the EQC is running 400bhp and is a second hand bargain / forgotten Mercedes.

Who would have thought a big heavy SUV is not very fuel efficient?

Didn’t the EQS come out today as one of the fastest depreciating cars. Loses nearly 50% in the first year!

Both Mercedes models offer luxury and performance, but for those seeking a more practical, reliable, and efficient electric SUV, the Toyota bZ4X delivers an excellent balance of technology and everyday usability.

I’m generally not against electric - but how can anybody defend the production of a car weighing 3.1 tonnes as being a genuine alternative for a sustainable future. It’s nuts! I half expected the shear weight to cause potholes to form in the driving shots…

Cant tell the difference until u tell me which is which. Their gas versions are bigger and more desirable while costing less.

Car magazine 1990 how to asure your Mercedes Benz is still yours 100 years from 1990 that will be 2090 .

EQS is not really the s class of electric SUVs, not as luxurious looking nor as commodious; the GLS has much more space and looks more luxurious. God help you when you have to replace that screen.

As much as I normally love your EV reviews, Vicky, I can't help but think 'someone' (*cough* Mercedes) must've paid you a substantial 'bonus' in order for you to bother reviewing these 2 totally, in your words, unnecessary cars...!
Even as much of an EVangelist as I am, the anti-EV trolls out there must be rubbing their 'keyboards' in glee ready to punish your channel for reviewing near-3 tonne, north-of-£100k electric SUVs.... and, in all honesty, I wouldn't blame them if they did.
Such weight and such excess goes against everything most regular EV owners would hold dear - namely efficiency and cost-effective personal transport.
I just wish you'd stuck to your no-nonsense, credible reviewing style and basically told viewers to "boycott these show-off monstrosities"...
