She’s a full all-in melee champ with little to no escape. She has 1 extremely unreliable CC on her ult and that’s it. I don’t see her getting picked in pro unless her numbers are just way too high.

Questions like these are always good to ask so that game dev can explain their thinking, but these also make me question the person asking. Like, what part of her abilities is pro-skewed? She just moves like crazy, so does Riven.

Well something she has going for her is her backline access, sidelane dominance and ability to stick on people, which is really strong in competitive.
However she also gets destroyed by great peeling, which is really common in competitive.

I still think its gonna be a big pick as she is right now, but at some point she'll maybe end up in a more balanced spot.

The problem is that you can't rely on ambessa to cc enemies or her dmg, like at all. She will be just like brair, noobs calling her op if they encounter a good player. And pros calling her absolutely dogshit.

Riven is a very high skill ceiling champ but is rarely used in pro because she usually isn't what they want for their draft. Ambessa looks kinda similar tbh, I think she will be a solo queue champ.

As a main toplaner i see Ambessa only good if ahead. No CC means no room for error. Maybe Ambessa will be played as Jungle or Support.
She looks flashy but when people get used to her she will get a hard time getting a lead.

Definately love the character design. For Toplaners she is a wet dream, besides beeing a grandma. ( I dont like the theme but i think the champ is great)

I doubt it. Even if her damage was insane, she’s all damage. And her kits forces her to be aggro to get anything done. Despite being a leader, she doesn’t do much for a team, let alone a pro team. At least nothing another character can’t offer.

The fact of the matter is that league punishes you for learning mechanically difficult champions with a lot of mobility. This is why zed is permanently kept weak, because noobs and baddies complain that they cant touch zed when hes in the hands of a guy who has spent years mastering zeds mechanics. Meanwhile kat can blink all over the place and takes almost no skill to play with a kit designed to drop entire enemy teams.

she’s just gonna beat everyone up. if you give a pro player a champ with life steal, dashes, armor pen. like ksante. like yone. it’s ONLY op on these pro player, who CAN and DO get use out of every little overloaded thing in the kit. yone isn’t so OP in my gold games, cause he misses everything, uses his E early, and builds full glass cannon. but it’s the most op champion in the game at worlds, hands down.
