They actually do not pay enough to people. I receive about $1250 a month. How much is rent? How much Is food ? How much is utilities. Any one that lives close to the poverty level knows that my total is not enough to own a car because they Insurance is to much and the price of rent. Try to rent a house for $1000 dollars a month. You cant find one. Why are so many homeless and living in their vehicles?
This over payment they are talking about is the people who work for the government in the social security department they could not get by one week on what I get in a month. They are the ones getting the over payment.

SSA should be mandated to provide a complete calculation of contributions made by Individual and how his monthly pension was calculated on first disbursement. That would be the future baseline for both parties.
