John Taylor, musician, and artist best known for being part of the Duran Duran band, explains in his film that his rehab stint, 25 years ago, changed everything. He says: “ I had 30 days in a rehab where it gave me some time to take a breath. I was introduced to the idea of myself as a sober man and what that might mean for my future.”

John Taylor was my teenage crush. Seeing him as an adult in this video, talking about his struggles with drugs and alcohol, has only made my love for him deepen. God Bless you, Mr. Taylor and thank you so much for sharing your story.

This guy rocks in every sense of the word. I’ve always had a crush on this guy but not just for looks, but because he had a good heart.

I have friends that toured with Duran Duran back in the 80s and stayed with them in hotels. They said John and the rest of them were all genuinely the nicest most polite people.

It takes a lot of courage to talk so honestly about a personal problem! Great John, such talented musician, but also as a great human being!

John, one day I will meet you. And I will hug you. And I will look you in the eye and thank you for EVERYTHING you have given my life, and I will tell you how proud I am to have loved you and DD from the very beginning.

The new song, Invisible, is AMAZING and I can't wait to see my 14th live DD show sometime next summer. Bless you ALL. Be well, you dear and beautiful man.

Alcoholism is normally due to underlying depression and family genetics. Trust me, I am a dry alcoholic. People need to understand how dangerous alcoholism is and have respect and empathy towards people that have it, not cast them out.

Hi John, you are my teenage idol. When I learnt your rehab story, I love you even more. I may not have a chance to meet you, I will always pray for you. Wish you all the best in the coming year. May God keeps blessing you & your whole family, and all Duran Duran teammates.

July 2021 - 1 year, 8 mos. (i remember when i used to count the days!) John is so right about the being "taken away." i never thought i'd find myself in rehab, but without that time "away" - to make the commitment to try to live without alcohol (in my case) - i never would have gotten sober. very brave man, John Taylor - thank you!

I haven't had a drink in 2 1/2 years, this is the longest and I'm 51. It wasn't easy, but I would look in the mirror and hated what I saw.
I had over a 1000 pictures of just John on my wall. with love John thank you!!

John, you changed my life in 1982 when I was in a heavy rock cover band. I heard you play and witnesses your band, and I knew that I could change direction. I realized I could still be in a cool band and NOT play heavy music. We changed styles and our look that month. Now you are still changing people’s lives. You are great through and through. An inspiration. We are lucky to have you in our midst....still.

I wish him with all my heart, that he may have the desire and strength to meet the same child when he did not think of weakening the mind with alcohol but finding the desire to live with serenity, seems on the right path.

22 weeks and 6 days. The hardest part of not drinking is the emotions and all the stuff you’ve been running away from. But it has to be faced.

What a cool message, an one near and dear to my heart. I've been sober for 11 years and it truly changed my life - I've always respected you as a bassist, but now even more so as a man.

I so love that John is, not only a talented and passionate musician, but an openhearted human being who is being of service. <3
