Stellantis tried to make Jeep a luxury brand and that destroyed Jeep. They didn't stay true to its roots.

It's called seagull management, fly in and shit on everyone and fly away

They priced themselves out of the market. No one wants to buy a $100, 000 truck that only costed $40, 000 four years ago.

In 1980 I worked for a company that was bought by a German company. The president came to us and told us he would be laying off 25% of our staff. When asked why (we were profitable), he said he had German families to support. One of us yelled out that we have families also. Crickets. Afterwards, one of my colleagues explained that to Germans we were Auslanders (outsiders, beneath them.) I left the company a year later. At the same meeting the president announced we would no longer be selling our equipment design, only their German design. Our customers didn’t want it, they wanted our design. I saw the handwriting on the wall and found another employer. Orders dried up and a year later the Germans shut down the US company and opened a 2 man sales office for their design. The Stellantis situation is eerily familiar.

The most expeditious way to cut costs for Stellantis is to immediately fire Carlos Tavares!

This is what happens when a great American company was sold out to a European conglomerate

Mr. Iacocca was a visionary, a leader and a true businessman who knew what people needed and wanted. He was a champion at what he did. RIP in peace Mr. Iacocca 🙏🏽💐

This is what ALL corporations do. It doesn’t matter what country they are from. They have no loyalty except to their shareholders.

Born and raised around Chryslers, Dodges and Plymouths since my childhood in the early '60s. I'm amazed at the level of incompetence and disconnect being displayed by Stellantis in absolutely ruining this once proud U.S. company. 😔

No V8s, crappy italian SUVs dressed as overpriced Jeeps, and prioritizing products that no one wants, while destroying the ones we love, is a straight ticket to lose your customers. That's not the way to run your business!

Even as a GM guy, I'm attracted to the products Dodge makes. But I refuse to shop for one when I see 200 Rams lined up on a lot here in Ohio, 2 deep, but yet they want outrages prices. In my eyes, the true truck market is for the middle hard working class, home owners and small business/contractors. But I'm not paying 60-80 grand for a Ram just to be able to haul a couple 2x4's or a small new appliance once in awhile.

I've purchased 4 new cars between 1987 and 2000:
•1987 Chevrolet El Camino - Hecho en Mexico
•1990 Chevrolet Lumina - Made in Canada
•1994 Chrysler LHS - Made in Canada
•2000 Honda Accord - Made in Ohio
Corporate America sold out the American worker a long time ago...

I work with Stellantis at Auburn Hills, while Tavares loves the North American market but he dont like the employees here, North American alone contributes to 60% of the companies profits. Yet every time the CEO comes to Auburn Hills he talks about layoffs, Tavares destroyed this company single handedly, His compensation rose from $25 Million to $40 Million this year.

I couldn’t agree more. I bought my first Ram 1500 under FCA and had zero issues. Bought my next Ram truck under the S brand and it’s been a huge decrease in quality. Even the service centers and dealers and went down.

This is really sad. Glad I retired several years ago. Reminds me of closing AMC in Kenosha. Totally devastated the community and the loyal workforce.

It's a foreign owned company. No Bailouts.

FIAT actually cared about the United States. This new company, what even is it? thing they do is abandon France, Italy, and USA, all together, and register the company in the Netherlands. Right away, I knew they were no good. Any corporate office far away, across national boundaries from where the production is being done, means production isn't a priority. The finance dorks have ruined another one. Its over.

Years ago I seen a snippet of an interview of some guy who ran a car company (Turned out to be Tavares), anyway this CEO was asked about the high prices of his cars and would people buy them, this guy just smirked and said something like "Well, if they want our cars they will." It wasn't until later found out that guy was the CEO of CJDR. He didn't care then either.
