Is this the last straw for Vancouver?

Vancouver is on the verge of becoming the first major city in Canada to ban plastic straws. If approved the no straw law would take effect in November of 2019

Very nice. Why the fudge would we even have plastic straws in the first place. Paper straws exist. Also we need to do away with plastic forks and knifes. We can switch to the ones the zoo has, The mini wooden sporks.

I honestly thought this would be ridiculous.. However that makes sense since they are niether recyclable nor bio degradable. I did not know you cant recycle straws. They should start banning coffee cups like Tim's they are non recyclable as well

There are lots of issues, some much more important than straws. While I’m totally on board, how is something as simple as banning them to take over a year to get implemented. November 2019? That’s crazy! Canada moves way too slow. I just can’t imagine all the wasted money coming out of everyone’s pocket.
