ER Technician here. I’m an aspiring med student and definitely considering orthopedic surgery if the ER Tires me out. I had an interaction with a very mean patient visitor who wanted to know why his wife was on antibiotics for a suspected GI Bleed. I told him I’d have to talk to his doctor (we were boarding at the time) but the doctor might take a bit to come down since it was the hospitalist taking care of her…. He had a fit. Started saying how I don’t know what prophylaxis is and what not, he even went around the ER to the ER staff saying that he is a doctor and wants to know more about why she’s on antibiotics… when I went in to ask him what specialty he’s in he said this:





“I’m a chiropractor”



you can only imagine the look on my face after that whole ordeal. good that he was worried about his wife, but cmon man.. seriously?

Once had a chiropractor literally lie to my face.

I was 18 and just stopped in out of curiosity cause there was sign out front saying, "free first exams."

They do the exam, take some x-rays, gave me what amounted to a back massage, and then sat me down to discuss myself as a "potential patient."

Chiropractor was pointing out things on my spine on my x-rays like, "see here and here? You need to get treatment or else you're at risk of impaired movement 6 months from now. 6 months from now and you're going to have a bulging disc! This will worsen without care!"

18 year old me: 😮

Also 18 year old me: /No money to see a chiropractor so quickly forgot about it.

I'm 32 now and my back is fine. I never acquired a bulging disc or impaired movement. That mofo was straight up lying to scare people into becoming patients. How are they getting away with this shit? 😂
