Nothing wrong with the "low weight base model extremely basic manual transmission car that's easy to work on and will last forever" concept. Hell, I wish they had even given it crank windows. This class of car needs to still exist.

As a poor college student, I love my mirage. It’s gets me from point A to B with no issues and great gas mileage. They all come with a warranty and are great for maneuvering in cities. It may not be a Mercedes but it gets the job done on a budget👍. (Especially if you’re in college and just need a reliable car). The manual version is better as well in my opinion. The automatic doesn’t shift as well.

Clearly this car is not merely focused on the U.S. market, it is more focused on the Latin American and Asian market where we don't care if the car has Sport mode, we simply want it to get from point A to point B in a functional way.

I’m a car enthusiast but I think Doug may have been overly harsh on this. This is just a perfect car in terms of workability. There’s space in the engine bay which means it’s easy to work on.
