Diversity of Macrofungi in Lane County : DNA aided discoveries in Oaks and Old Growth - Dr Bitty Roy

Bitty will briefly explain how we use DNA to aid in macrofungal identification. Then she will show images of some cool fungi we have found in oaks and old growth, many of which are new species. DNA has also helped us gain a better understanding of mushroom succession after fire. Bitty will end the talk by showing you how to use the Extended Lane County Checklist built with the help of many CMS members, but especially Bruce Newhouse, Dan Morton, Cheshire Mayrsohn and myself.
