I just bought one and I recommend buying it absolutely. The fact is this tablet is good, really good compared to other tablets. It's also only 199, so for the price you're looking at so much. So unless you have like a transformer prime or something, then this tablet is the way to go. You know Google wanted this thing to focus on killing the kindle, but for me it's done so much more than that. It's not just an e-reader tablet it's a straight up awesome tablet all around.

yes, but if you upgrade from 4.0 with flash installed to 4.1, you will be able to keep it, not that it really matters as they have html5 now

@Patriik23 Of course it is, it'll do more, it's bigger, it has a rear camera, you can get it with LTE, more storage space and so on.... Of course it'll cost a lot more too. Just like other tablets in the price range of $400+. I don't think this was made to compare the new iPad. But for price, Nexus 7 is a great buy, very impressive.

If you feel that tablets don't meet your needs, and arguably if you have a smartphone and laptop it won't that's fine. But this is a solid product that alot of people are excited about, Google Nexus branded devices have a good lineage and Asus is a rock solid manufacturer. You shouldn't dismiss this so easily.

Well, they have the Nexus line of phones, and the Motorola Xoom for a 10 inch tablet, so really, the only form factor they haven't done yet is a 7-inch tablet. Also, the price point is to put it in competition with e-readers, like the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, so it's directly competing with other 7-inch devices.

You can still use hotmail I'm sure. If not by an app, then by web. There is an app store, it's called Google Play Store. You can get an app for the camera aswell.
