Table of Ultimate Gaming Game Changer 4' x 6' table finally showed up and this is my review.

EDIT - I did just receive a message from TOUG acknowledging the poor panels. They said this is the first they've heard of it but won't have any more for months so they hope the play mat covers it.

My understanding is that this company is one to avoid now, between the bad craftsmanship, the insane amount of time it takes for delivery and non-existent communication. Hate to see it happen to you but on the flip side am happy to see someone I trust experience and say the same

The video is a bit depressing. I went from totally buying one, to interesting, maybe rethink it, got to ask the wife, that looks like a nightmare, to no way in hell I ever buy one of those.

I'm on the look out for a table for Armada and I would be disappointed if I bought this, thanks for the honest review 👍

I'm only 3ish minutes into this video, and as a wood worker, I can already see at least a dozen things wrong with that table. Very poor craftsmanship. That table with the wood, finish and labor, cost around $200 max.

I ordered the Elite Series in February. It took about two months to arrive and ours went together rather easily with none of the headaches you experienced. My only negatives are with the customer support side. We never got a tracking order or any warning it was on it’s way. A few items are on back order and we never get any updates. It takes several days or longer to get a response from them.

We do love our new great looking dining room/game table but one must have a lot of patience in waiting and dealing with the company.

I almost went with the Game Changer Topper, but cancelled my pledge four hours before the Kickstarter ended. I'm so very glad i did. Though not a table, the topper is built of the same wood, and then there are the other issues people have been raising regarding the company itself. I immediately went with a Game Toppers topper instead, even though it was a year after their first Kickstarter ended. Got it in seven days. Wonderful product, and even the accesssories are first rate. Great people and customer service, and communication. I'm sorry to see the TOUG situation being what it is.

So glad that I got my gaming table from Ikea. It costed about 500 CAD, is even bigger than this one, adjustable lengthwise and very heavy, which means better stability and assembling it was a breeze - took me three or four hours with absolutely no issues. Also much better wood quality even though it is Ikea. The only missing is that it is technically dining table - no vault style, no cup holders by design (probably will get something to add later).
When I was selecting it had Armada in head specifically for size and had to improvise a game mat for it.
Thank you for the review.

Thank you for this review. You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. I received the same exact table last week, and for the money I paid, this table is NOT WORTH IT!! I had upgraded my kickstarter to what I thought was the Elite version, but nope. I really wanted the rails underneath to be able to slide the table tops and use them as a desk or tray. I was very disappointed when I received the table and that was NOT the case. For me, the table was easy to assemble except for the last part where you install the outer rail for the tables top pieces to fit. The directions, as you mentioned, were zoomed out and you couldn't really make out which way the boards were supposed to go. I eventually figured it out.

The grid planks that form the bottom of the play area did not fit very well inside the table once constructed. I had to manipulate the planks in a way where the formed a sort of angeled roof and then muscle them down into place or loosen the side edge screws of the table, and screw the planks down. The boards used to put the table together are very thin, maybe 3/8"? I guess that does cut down on weight, but it also cuts down the quality IMO. I also received a purple play mat for the table and mine did not fit either. I'm considering cutting the corners at a angle to give it a better fit, but its under the overhanging edge rail and not impacting the play area, so I dunno if I'll do that. The table is HUGE and much bigger than I expected, and the stain is very well done. I guess without seeing it in person before ordering it, that's the risk you take.

I agree with the customer service issue, or lack there of. I emailed their customer service for 3 months straight asking for an update on my table, that was supposed to arrive in March / April 2019. My emails went unanswered for several weeks, and one day I received an email saying they would look into the status, only to not hear back from anyone. I then decided to post about my dis-satisfaction of their customer service on their Facebook page. As you can guess, my posts were deleted and I was blocked from commenting on their page. I was wondering why there were NO negative reviews or comments on their page, because they DELETE them and don't give anyone a chance to respond once Blocked or Banned. PISS POOR SERVICE!!!

Moving forward, I would not buy or recommend the Table of Ultimate Gaming from this company to anyone. Inferior product and horrendous customer service. If I could get a full refund, I would. Lesson learned.

I just watched your video on the mat that covers the table, not surprised at all with the quality. Hope that TOUG fixes their customer service issue, cause that is going to sink the company at some point.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the rest of my accessories (6 chairs, cup holders, dice trays, game pads, power plugs) are backordered ANOTHER 1-2 months. Ridiculous.

Thanks for the great review. I was considering one of these in the future. Definitely happy to hear the honest review about assembly and final product.

I use to work at a windows factory. they gave scrap wood for free to employees. I built a table just like this one (heavier and better quality) for free. 50$ for led bar and crushed velvet playing field. I'm 6'3 and I made it stand at my waist. one summer well spent:)

I have a friend who has one of these tables it has the same problems and in my opinion it is was overpriced for the quality.

Baltic birch plywood comes in various grades. It's possible you have the leaves in upside down, and the other side has no knothole patches.

Having just received my table over the weekend i have to say your review and comments are spot on. Great table, some quality issues and corner cutting, terrible customer service. So if you are patient, and willing to 'make it work' you'll have cool table. But be prepared to handle some significant frustration. My order didnt have as much damage as yours did, but they did give me a wrong piece for the top of my table, so im currently trying to figure out how to get a replacement.

For the table cover not laying flush, you should have gotten some metal dowels included with them. When you insert them into the holes then they will be flush. I made the same mistake and this fixed it at least.

I put this table together recently, I did it all by hand (no drill, I don't like drills when I assemble furniture) and it took me about 8 hours with minimal breaks, and I did it alone.

Some of the things I noticed are:

- The A, B, C frames are backwards in the instruction manual, I freaked out at first because I thought they were assembled wrong but it ended up being fine, the manual was incorrect but I got stuck on this for a bit.
- The panels fit flush for me, there are 10 "L" panels and 2 "P" panels, I missed it at first and the panels were off but as soon as I put the "P" panels where they were suppose to go everything sat flush.
- The panels should not be screwed in TOO tight, they don't need to be wicked tight, they sit there anyway, they need to be tight enough not to move when pushed but not tight enough that they are pushing against the other panels and throwing them off. My panels were flush before hand tightening the screws but then they were not flush when I was done screwing them all in. As soon as I started untightening the screws (but keeping the screw heads below the hole) everything sat flush. If the panels are not flush you will feel the unevenness with the mat on it.
- The caps need to be jammed on, I used a small tool handle to shove them in, I haven't had one pop off yet (yet..). If you push them in with your finger it might not be enough.
- The manual tells you on step 2, 3, and 4 not to tighten the screws and then it doesn't tell you when to tighten them. You see the braces lined up with the rails attached to them all throughout so you assume you are suppose to tighten them which most people probably will; however on the last step is when you tighten them and the manual could have done a lot better to tell you to wait to tighten until step 22.
- I have 2 small areas (one on each short side) where the rail frame is not completely flush but it is barely noticeable, everything else looks perfect.
- My main complaint is the rails, they don't seem 100% sturdy and I am hesitant to have larger friends lean on them. There is a small amount of squeaking/cracking if you put weight on them (and they are as tight as my hand could make them, like I said I don't drill when it comes to stuff like this).

And I am not saying that Crabbok is wrong, I totally 100% believe that the shitty experience he went through was no fault of his own. I am happy with my purchase (so far) but I am also not using the table as a dining room table so I can't comment on the toppers. I have it in my basement. I was reading horror stories about how long it was taking people to get their tables (probably more so Elite?) but I got mine 12 days after ordering (still waiting on cup holders). Oh and my mat was an inch too long.

This table takes up a lot of room.

Maybe I was just a fortunate one. I got the 3.5x5 table (no covers). While I did have to work the table surface panels a little, getting them in wasn't that bad. The overall assembly wasn't too bad either. Parts fit together properly, no missing screws or dowels, and all the parts were there. The playmat fit about the same as what is shown in the video (not that big a deal to me). I don't disagree with the overall assessment of the component quality, but compared to other tables of the same size (and higher quality components), the Game Changer was about 1/3rd the price. One other big difference for me is that my table is just for my game room and not a kitchen or dining room table (why I didn't get the table cover panels).I will agree with the comment regarding poor communication from ToUG. I think they really did themselves a disservice by not being more responsive (both to private emails and on the KS page).Overall, I feel I got what I expected. A nice table to play games on and nothing more.

Got this exact same table from the kickstarter and his review is 100% accurate. Quality of control is definitely the big thing. I didnt have as big an issue with the tiles that he did but I certainly can see his issue being a thing. I jad to use a mallet to get my tiles into place. The instructions for mine were reveresed for how the holes were drilled so I had to invert almost every part of the instructions after assembling the long sides. Ita nice and I like it but I think between their distribution and QC issues id look elsewhere. Wormwood seems to have great quality but the price matches there.
