The way paul said "blue eyes white dragon structure deck" was like dangling keys

Probably my favorite thing about yugioh is that there's a deck for literally everyone.
You like dragons? We got that
You like fish? We got that
You like big machines? We got that
You like snake ladys? We got that
You like indescribable horrors? We got that
Like fluffy animals? We got that
You don't like playing yugioh? Yeah there's decks for that too.

Literally any person with any playstyle will have at least one deck they will enjoy

It's fun, when casual.
Never cared that much about competitive scene, I prefer to encounter unique decks in casual duels. Yu-Gi-Oh is WAY too vast just to be restricted to competitive format.

I play very casual Yu-Gi-Oh. Often when some people can't make it to a D&D/game night, we pull our decks out and play.

Why you should try Yugioh --

So I have more duelists to play neo spacians against.

You know what, fine. If you insist, I’ll get extremely addicted to yugioh again

I’ve tried jumping into yugioh at my local LGS last year. I’ve stuck with it for about 2 months. The player base (in my experience) was very rude to me and my new friends. Not saying everyone is like that, but that’s my experience and why I won’t play

I love this! I recently got back into Yu-Gi-Oh after taking a hiatus for the last few years - I was in the crowd that got into the game out of nostalgia but got deterred by the complexity... Then I got into Magic, and after seeing you guys recently in some Tolarian videos I got encouraged to give Yu-Gi-Oh another shot. I'm now proud to say I've overhauled my Rokkets deck and am currently tooling some Traptrix and Crystal Beasts precons to get back into things. Keep inspiring people guys, you're great!

You hate having spare money and want to spend it.

My fun fact for yugioh is every "Book of" spell card in the art work shows you the book itself face down. Because thats what the card does (you can confirm this by looking at the spine position of the books)

4:44 yugioh is not going to build friendships especially modern yugioh. There’s no interaction and watching your opponent do a whole combo is boring.

8:58 mentioning competitive events to newbies especially modern yugioh is going to drive them away. Competition isn’t fun.

16:55 that the main issue with modern yugioh, to much reading. Not to mention you gotta explain the card as well to your opponent and not everyone has a great attention span

I will never forget how that Master Duel cross platform trailer featured Alec on there! That was an incredible feature for Alec to on there! I wish Paul was in there too!

Coming from magic, Konami please increase the font size. Additionally I wish they were less afraid of bullet points to subdivide effects. It would make the cards so much easier to read at a glance.

I haven't played in at least 15 years but all of a sudden I got the itch again. I have no idea where to start tho. All my cards are as old as the pyramids 🤣 🤣

Honestly I hope Konami gets a clue and finally decides to make changes for the better so that these Reasons Why become "Great Reasons Why". As someone who has (and still does) love the large variety of decks that can be built in the game, I would love it if Konami just did some reprint products for the broader casual crowd. Like just a sealed box of cards for decks that are really weak and/or old (they could throw in anything from good old Earth Warrior cards to niche archetypes like Reptilianne) would be amazing since so much just never gets reprints despite all the reprints we've supposedly gotten (reprinting staples and nostalgia bait cards is nice and all, but it's still a small fraction of the entire game).

I'm glad to see you're still vouching for the game even with its many problems. I think it's very easy to have bad experiences and become very pessimistic towards the game these days. As someone who is admittedly pretty cynical, even I would prefer to see the game live long enough to turn itself around for the better than flounder and die off. It scratches a very specific itch as a card game that none other I've tried really reaches. Here's hoping for the best.
