Reflecting on my journey from a cold train station in Berlin to finding joy in manual craftsmanship. As a climate scientist in Hamburg, I realized the disconnect between my work on the computer and feeling truly fulfilled. Taking a leap of faith, I quit my job, returned home, and built my first bike frame with my own two hands. The sense of accomplishment and pride I felt in creating something tangible was unlike any other experience I had in my previous career.

Fast forward 12 years, and I am still the proud owner of Big Forest Frameworks, helping others discover the same sense of fulfillment and joy I found in building their own bike frames. It’s a reminder that sometimes the path to true happiness lies in following our passions and creating something meaningful out of our own hands. Here’s to finding joy in the process of creation and never settling for anything less.
