Wow, your stride and runs sound so beautifully, "old school." That sound reminds me of the wonderful studio players and the way they played (out of frame) on the sets of Casablanca.

So as I understand it, on a dim chord, try out a pentatonic based on either of the top two notes down half a step. I worked out those scales will always include at least two of the notes in the dim chord. But doesn't that rule hold true for the other notes? Or is it more a matter of they sound the best. Either way, another great wee trick to try out

Stella thing, those are all maj pentatonic choices for the chords? Seems the flat 3 diminished is V of V? Notice any of those notes in diminished chords that move down for the V7, will move one up for a half diminished then if you do different combos of notes up or down you can get maj 6 or call them minor 7th if you want or you can get 7b5
