A free trade agreement intended to extensively boost trade among the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries on Wednesday progressed further toward its final ratification, as the 2021 RCEP Members International Trade Digital Expo opened in Beijing.

The RCEP, the world's largest free trade agreement, was signed in mid-November 2020 by 10 ASEAN member countries and China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking at a meeting on the 2021 RCEP Members International Trade Digital Expo, Zhang Shenfeng, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said that the deal will help facilitate China's process of deepening and broadening its opening-up in foreign trade.
