A lot of people here are forgetting this is the same girl that stood between him and rescuing villagers taken from his land. And came at his party with killing intent while he was trying to earn money to free them.

Sure, she helped out; but if you REALLY think about, for all he knew it could be a ploy to get him to lower his guard. Make him vulnerable.

In the Novel, Syne paid 2 silver and Naofumi gave her food. Filo called her "Clown Girl" and was friendly-ish to her.
Syne was booted out of the village (with the look-backs) similar to this scene after eating.

Side note:
1) Filo is good with detecting "bad intentions in people" that is why she didn't attack Syne even thought they fought in the arena before.
2) Syne can eat, almost as much as Filo.

Background: Naofumi got to this world against his will, everyone was racist towards him and then charged him with a crime he never did, and because it's a royal charge and everyone's racist no one believed him. The only way for him to trust somebody was through a slave mark, and probably the only person without a slavemark that he trusts 100% is Melty, the queen's daughter, since she gained his trust and she was targeted by the same girl that made everyone against him.

Plus, when he begun to heal and decided to trust someone again, someone he got along nicely, was a very good teammate and ended up nearly being besties was in truth a guy that was leading the waves, and therefore betrayed him, once again.

After all that, you're still upset with him for deciding to not trust someone that attacked him with borderline killing intent, and attempted to stop him from retrieving the people from his village? You know how difficult it's for him to trust already someone that has never ever been hostile towards him, and you expect to trust this girl in one go?
