A new hybrid virus coined H1N1 swept the globe in 1918 killing many millions before subsiding in early 1920. Three deadly waves of aggressive influenza ravaged a planet at war. It became known as Spanish Flu. The virus lasted 39 years until dominated by another strand when an H2N2 pandemic started in 1957, but it still exists in certain animals to this day. These photos show that social distancing, closures, and self-quarantine aren't new for Coronavirus.
