Health Care for Undocumented Immigrants

With the change in Presidential administrations, there's been a chance in policies regarding immigrants, and a change in policies regarding health care. A. Taylor Kelley, a National Clinician Scholar at the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, has co-authored a new Perspective in the New England Journal of Medicine about this issue.

i work in healthcare. These undocumented people have better free insurance from the state. I work 2 jobs but I still pay a lot on co-pays and deductibles.

First off, I'm not an american....may never be. The way I see it, the dems seem to care more about the well being of illegal migrants much more than the citizens who elected them. I am of the view that a government's first duty is to it's citizenry...not that i am against migration or the rights or migrants. I also hold the view that people who want to migrate or claim asylum must play by the established rule and not come in by the back door. you can't come in through the fence, and if you find work you can't pay into the system.... demand all sorts of rights, demand access to free education, free healthcare....free everything! on the backs of the US taxpayer.. it's not fair...never will be...do it the right way!

We’re being ripped off. In Spain a premium medical insurance policy is about 200 Euro ($222USD) per adult individual per month. Spain is ranked No. 7 in the world for healthcare. The U.S. is ranked No. 11. My Blue Shield policy currently costs $850 per month. God help us all.

Best cost saving initiative for healthcare is to send everybody back that’s not an American citizen and concentrate on the veterans hear that have not been attending to clean your own house first before you reach outside your yard

I have been wanting to go to the dentist since week ago but I'm fearing the huge ass bill and lady that my mom knows has been deported multiple times went to the dentist not long ago and now has new braces.And I work hard for my money it's an abuse to the American citizens

I make $15 an hour. On top of all my other living expenses like house payment, car insurance, utilities, Electric and Gas I have to pay $350 out of my own pocket for insurance that has a $7, 000 deductible. But I'm the privileged white guy.

Does everyone know it costs $12, 000 for a doctor to use the operating room in a hospital? And that’s just to use the room for a few hours. Our insurance providers haggle the hospital down on price to $8, 000. Then we pay $800 as the sick person, or 10%, if we have good insurance. Try asking the doctor for a price list before your operation. There isn’t one. Hospitals charge you MORE TO COVER FREE HEALTHCARE FOR OTHERS.

Now they want to take more from your wallet too. The crooked politicians are happy to provide this to their hospital board of director donors!

Go to any other country for medical services and you have to pay, (before they let you leave the hospital). Make sure your travel insurance will cover you.
