How to import references into the new Mendeley reference manager? #mendeley #research

In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to use and import the references into the Mendeley Reference Manager. The Mendeley Reference Manager is a free reference manager created by Elsevier. I'll show you everything you need to know including how to add references to Microsoft Word.
To import references into the new Mendeley Reference Manager, you can follow these steps:

Open the Mendeley Reference Manager application on your device.

Click on the "Add" button located in the toolbar at the top of the screen.

In the drop-down menu, select the appropriate option based on where your references are stored:

If you have a PDF document with embedded metadata or a compatible citation file, choose "File" to import from a file.
If you want to import references from a database or an online source, choose "Search" or "Web Importer" respectively.
If you have references in another reference management software, choose "Reference Manager" and select the appropriate software for the import.
Depending on the option you selected, you may need to browse your computer to locate the file, enter the search terms to find the references online, or follow the specific instructions for the reference manager you are importing from.

After importing, Mendeley will extract the relevant information and create entries for each reference.

Review the imported references to ensure their accuracy and completeness. Mendeley may automatically populate fields such as title, authors, publication, and abstract, but you may need to make manual adjustments or fill in any missing information.

Once you are satisfied with the imported references, click the "Save" or "Import" button to add them to your Mendeley library.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully import references into the new Mendeley Reference Manager.
