Another great show. Arterial stiffness I was taught years ago that arterial stiffness is reflected in lack of trunk flexibility but more usefully that increasing your trunk flexibility will reflect in improved arterial flexibilty

Guys, when you guys have that patient who stabilized his plaque and has an exercise routine, can you discuss Tendon health? Tendon issues can creep up and throw one off their exercise routine (I lost a full month). Muscle health is great, but without good tendons, they may as well be wet noodles. Rehabbing tendons takes a long time, so prevention is super important especially for us folks over 55.

As to weights, my brother bought a set of dumbbells 50 years ago. They look their age. I use them every other day and they still weigh as much as they did when he first bought them. 🤗

vitamin and mineral supplements are often a con; for instance i was taking magnesium, but checking the ingredients, the magnesium was in the form of an oxide which is only 3% bioavailable, now i take a citrate which is affordable and much better i found most ingredients were low grade, low bioavailable or in useless quantities in multivitamins, because they're cheaper to manufacture. I take vitamin d, magnesium and omega 3, because most people are deficient in these and they give benefits

A year ago when I started the journey to improve my health with diet and exercise, I also started taking 1/2 a multivitamin just to make sure I didn't miss anything. It is a way of covering all my bases as we don't know what we don't know. I never saw it as a replacement for exercise. - Dr. Banfield, YouTuber, quoted a study a while back that addressed multi-vitamens and that it at least correlated with longer life. I don't think any Doctor should assume most folks eat a healthy and balanced diet unless told/verified otherwise.

Some might take MVs as a kind of insurance policy against anything lacking in their diet. It is often reported that farming produce these days are missing or have lower levels of essential minerals and vitamins etc

Thanks so much for answering my question. I did want to understand why my LP-PLA2 was elevated and if that was cause for concern. I suspended my Rosuvastatin and got a baseline for cholesterol and inflammation and my LDL was very high. Thanks again.

I can only tell you that I started taking low level vitamins and added minerals I read support thyroid function, and after decades of needing thyroid supplements my dose needed to be reduced a total of 75%, so far! I think I clearly had a long time deficit I dud not know about. I eat a well balanced diet and mostly organic. Some of us really benefit. I alternate days of multi and then thyroid specific. I get the selenium from 1 brazil nut. Nobody will check vitamin levels except sometimes b12 and d, so we have to guess. I was low in the ones checked so became interested in what else might be missing. I can only tell you something worked and that either I don't absorb nutrients well or the food is deficient, but my low level supplements must have filled in one or more gaps. I do think people often overdo the doses.

I just started taking them. Never thought they prolonged life, just eat one with my mid-day meal to give myself the best shot of getting daily nutrients that will help me feel well. Of course, they don’t replace a balanced diet.

Im 88 years old and taking MVM more than 20 years ago and I feel myself courageous and full of vitality. I believe that more important than MVM are oligoelements, While alive I will continue using MVMs. Greets from Venezuela

The lowest possible quality is crowded into a pill that is expected to earn the highest possible profit. The benefits depend on the research quality, philosophy, morality and corporate conscience of the provider. Few if any providers with a full spectrum offering exist in the market place.

I'd like to hear more about C15. These years of having a "low fat" diet pushed on us has revealed what was common sense for our grandparents, everything in moderation.

My best indicator if a supplement helps is if I feel better taking it than I do when I don't. Placebo? Maybe. Recently I began taking a vein formula from company called vita support, that makes diosimin supplements for my veins then I was told to alternate the Vein and Lymph formulas. The Lymph formula has Selenium and D3 added. My Dairy goats need selenium in their minerals to have healthy babies never thought about it for myself. The formula with selenium has made big difference in how I feel so this might not be multivitamin but it would be hard to convince me these supplements have not really helped me. I feel the difference. I tend to think about quality of life over quantity or years.

In addition, the quality and bioavailability of vitamins varies. These studies are too general and are not standardized. For example, the B complex, methyl forms are much better and non-toxic. Also, ideally vitamins should not contain: Titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate and microcrystalline cellulose. I won't take Centrum.

The more I learned about supplements and their dirty little secrets and marketing B.S. I stopped taking 90% of those things. And Multivitamin is almost like a red flag for me. I'm become more discerning and take those supps with known value and best sources, like the fish oil Omega 3, Vit D3/K2, and Magnesium Glycinate, I take about 1/2 the recommendations, because I grow my own veggies in my garden and eat whole organic foods as much as possible, no certainly NO processed food junk. I know a lot of ppl can't do that, but if I can do it, then I should.
