Non-Yankee fan here but wanted to get this off my chest. I've slept on this the past couple days...Jake, you did a great job in trying to set the table and the question needed to be asked. Not at all fair for Boone to respond by attacking your professional character, even if it was clearly out of frustration. Mad respect to you and the Jomboy crew for representing the voice of the Yankee (and other teams) fans. Love your work guys!

Okay if he hasn’t had a rehab gam then he could have been a DH in all three games against the orioles and not play Outfield. Then slowly implement him into the field instead of throwing him right into the field.

Don’t see anything wrong with his answer. You don’t throw a guy out there every day after an injury like that. Gotta build him back up to that point, which is what rehab assignments are for, and Judge didn’t have a rehab assignment.

This question was valid. The methodology for handling judge's 'rehab' has been scuffed. If they had just said they wanted judge back in the dugout to help lead but wanted to ensure he was still progressing and not regressing makes sense. The question was worded and posed extremely well, and provided several different ways for Boone to get out of the heat pretty easily. He didn't think about it, and instead just lashed out in frustration. "You of all people" as if expected that you wouldn't ask a tough question.

As a Red Sox I respect Boone for going on this show and taking well deserved shit. He will probably be canned at the end of the year but he is taking it in stride and had the balls to volunteer to go on the show. Most managers especially for the Yankees wouldn't do this.

I think its unfair for Aaron Boone to lash out so emotionally at Jake for this question. One: It's a fair question. Two: there is no need to "defend Aaron Judge" the question is not directed at besmirching Judge; it's really a clever misdirection by Boone to defend himself for making the decision to not play him. I don't think anyone actually believes that Aaron Judge asked to not be in the lineup on Sunday, and if he did, that would be more legit than the Yankees or Boone arbitrarily choosing to rest him. I think Aaron Boone should "be better" than to just pick on Jake. Just answer the question Aaron.
