A grade hospitality- you can tap their door and ask for food . They give food free no matter what, wherever you go in the country. They never leave anyone hungry ❤❤❤

Indeed, when you enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food, it feels as though your taste buds—previously dormant—are suddenly awakened. The spices are truly unparalleled, not only bursting with flavor but also packed with health benefits. They’re rich in vitamins and can be particularly helpful for those with conditions such as diabetes, kidney issues, constipation, and high cholesterol.

While you're there, here are some delicious dishes you might want to try (unless you've already had them):

1). Dry Fish (either milky or fried)
2). Polos Curry (tender jackfruit) and Bitter Gourd Curry (excellent for diabetics)
3). Sprats Curry (small fish) with boiled jackfruit and coconut
4). Thambili (King Coconut - great for kidney health)
5). Sri Lankan Biriyani (try Banana Leaf Restaurant in Bambalapitiya)
6). Fried King Fish and Fried Prawn (Shrimps).
7). String Hoppers with Kiri Hodi (milky coconut gravy), sambal, dhal, and either king fish or chicken curry
8). Kottu Roti (with chicken or egg)
9). Sri Lankan Faluda (a sundae-style drink with rose-flavored milk, ice cream, vanilla, chocolate, topped with nuts, and raisins)
10). Egg Hoppers with chicken curry and dhal
11). Devilled Crab Curry with Fried Rice (available at Changos Park View, Fife Road, Colombo. They also serve the best mixed Chopsuey Rice in town)
12). Sri Lankan Ginger Beer (cold - EGB)
13). Fish Rolls and Egg Rolls
14). Authentic Rice & Curry with Papadum (just like the one you featured in this video)
15). Sri Lankan Lump Rice wrapped in banana leaf
16). Jaffna Food (rice and curry, dosa, vada), if you happen to go to Jaffna side (Norther SL).
17). Tempered Kadala (Chickpeas) with Scraped Coconuts and Dry Red Chilli
18). Sri Lankan Fruits (Pineapple, Durian, Mango, Banana, Guava, Mangistine, Rambutan, Varaka (ripe Jackfruit), Melon, Woodapple (very healthy).
19). Watalappam (a very tasty dessert made of Jaggery, Egg, Cardamom ETC.)
20). Avocado cream mixed with milk and sugar
21). Dodol and Muskat (similar to halwa in Arabic countries)
22). Sri Lankan Cashew nuts (roasted or salted)
