Mark Allen's Final IRONMAN World Championship Victory: 1995

Mark Allen might be best known for his first IRONMAN World Championship in 1989. It was a classic battle up until the closing miles with Dave Scott. However, Mark states that without a doubt his final IRONMAN victory in 1995 was his greatest race ever. He came back from nearly insurmountable odds to win his sixth and final IRONMAN that year.

Triathletes today don’t realise how amazing it was to be part of the birth of a sport. Those early years were just so exciting, the rivalries so good. It’s different today, a lot of the innocence has gone but it’s great to look back at these earlier races 👍
