Fun fact: the ozone layer is right on top of antarctica, so the uv rays from the sun will give you radiation poisoning.

Imagine if this is actually what happened in Antarctica before we discovered it, then after some years all the polar bears and trees died, then a new species the Penguins emerged, and all the remaining destroyed houses and stuff got burned by something, because of that now there’s no trace of it.

Now make the eocene start and end, they would see it as a glimer of false hope :
The ice sheets retreat soon they disapear, antartica floods spread into islands, temperate forest form, then the temperate forest also retreats into the interior, now lush and covered in jungles antartica rests, but what they dont know its that its temporary everything goes back to normaly very slowly as ice begins to apear and the last grass dies antartica is back to a frozen wasteland
