A bit of a weird month | February reading wrap up

Long time no speak! I hope you’re all well. 🤎How are we in March already? I feel like I was celebrating New Year's last week. 🙈

For the month of Feb I read a total of 4 books and 1 DNF 😭 It wasn’t as great as Jan, but I still had a good time.

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books, or if you have any recommendations from these books that you’ll think myself or anyone else would enjoy! I would love another James Baldwin recommendation.

I am the same as you, a set TBR simply put me out of reading. What I have tried doing, because I like the idea of a guided reading, is that I don't set a TBR but more of a theme so that I can choose a book within a genre or a theme. It is a really loose take on it haha, but it does work when I feel like being guided a bit by something other than my mood haha.

I read a week a go " Before I Let Go" and really enjoyed it ! I had been wanting to read it since it came out, and I am really happy that I have finally read it. I'm really looking forward to reading the next books in the series.
I read Such a Fun Age when it came out and really loved it ! I'm slightly anxious about reading her second book, because they're so many mixed reviews but reading was so good I have to give a go at her second one.

Giovanni’s Room has been on my TBR forever; I really need to get to it. The only Baldwin book I’ve read so far was If Beale Street Could Talk, which I loved (and the movie’s very good, too).

Love James Baldwin! My favourite of his so far is If Beale Street Could Talk, it's so so good, beautifully written, set in New York, about a young black couple in the 1970s, and I think you might really enjoy it too 💛

I love Kiley Reid and adored her second novel as well. She's a queen of low stakes stories and her dialogue is fantastic. "Come and get it" is slower paced so dont expect the plot to take off right away
