Jimmy Carter is one of the most consequential Presidents of the 20th Century. He was a moral and decent man who lived his faith to the very end. His Carter Center work for humanity is a challenge to all, and especially Presidents who will follow him. Character and values do count. In a time when morality and values have devolved Jimmy Carter never wavered in his humble love of neighbor and humanity. He was taken by God at the precise moment to remind us that kindness and virtue wins in the end, when it is so lacking in many leaders who would show us otherwise. With blessings and gratitude for this wonderful couple Jimmy and Roselyn.

The man.

The myth.

The legend.

May he rest in peace.

His legacy, as president and as a humanitarian, will not be seen for a long time.

As Bob Hope Once Said:
"Thanks for the memories"

I say this with sincerity and respect

Jimmy Carter……a very great human being. So many people in this country could take a page from his book and be a caring human being especially people in Washington, DC. You have left a giant footprint wherever you walked. We were so fortunate to have had you all these years. People around the world will mourn your passing. Sleep well, you earned it. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

He’s definitely not aloof and cold. The public had it wrong and was out of touch w/ who Pres. Carter was in 1981. He’s always been a guiding light for those who recognize him, his integrity and compassion, dedication uplifting humanity. 🙏

He was president of the USA when I was 14 years old. A great man and Humanitarian whom worked hard for America. May God Bless Jimmy Carter and may he rest in Eternal Peace. Tony in Portsmouth England.

President Carter both is and was probably one of the most honest president we’ve had.

No, no. He did good for this country DURING his presidency. And impressed us all with his lifetime of humanitarian work. Not just “after his presidency””. Tell the truth please.
He was an amazing person whom did so much more than you said.

RIP to an amazing President. His service as a public servant didn't end. His service with Habitat for Humanity and his Faith is very humiliating. America, if you could have what him and Rosslyn had; Rich !!

He was ahead of his time in many ways and brilliant. 🤓
Humanitarian leadership is a lesson learned today for all the world. 💞Thankfully he continued to give back with his many books and Carter Center education and international work of irradicating water born disease by parasites. December 28 continues to have a somber meaning since 2020. 😢

Interesting story I have about jimmy carter. I actually met him once without realizing it was him until about 20 years later. My dad and myself were traveling through Atlanta in 1996 and along the way we decided to visit the Carter center. It was early in the morning and during a week day. My dad asked me to run up to the door and check the hours. I ran up there and looked at the entrance and tried to peak in through the window to see if there was anybody there. There was this guy on a bench next to the entrance reading the newspaper and it looked like he was wearing pajamas. He just said, “Hi.” I was little confused by him, I thought maybe he was the building custodian and/or the night watchman. It is just unusual to see somebody wearing pajamas outside this building. I just asked, “do you know when this building will be open.” He said, it is open at 9 am on weekdays and on weekends it is open at about 8 am.” I just replied back with, “thank you.” I went back to my dad’s car and I said, “I just spoke with the night watchmen up there and he said it is open at 9 am”. My dad said, that was Jimmy Carter up there. I didn’t say anything because my dad has a tendency to pull my leg and say off the wall things at time. He recently told me, “you did meet a president, that guy on the bench next to the entrance at the Carter center was Jimmy Carter. I interviewed (my dad used to be a reporter for the military) him once and recognized him and even told you that was Jimmy Carter.” I just looked at my dad kind of strange. He was wearing pajamas and didn’t look that sophisticated. My dad later told me has an appartment at the Carter center and he is low key and doesn’t like to dress up that much. - truly weird scenario. In retrospect, I do think it was him after watching his CNN biography.

From repute, I learn he was a great leader beyond the US.

You also forgot to mention that President Carter had not been for him pushing to rescue all those people in Tehran. It would’ve never happened. Ronald Reagan got the credit for that even though it was Carter’s.!
