SHORTCUT - FIND C THAT MAKES F CONTINUOUS ON (-infinity, infinity)

For what value of the constant c is the function continuous on (-infinity, infinity)?

When we see piecewise functions like this and our goal is to make sure it is continuous everywhere, there are two cases we want to consider separately:

1. making each individual piece continuous on its reduced domain, and
2. making the different pieces line up when our function switches between them.

If we know that each piece is a polynomial regardless of the constant c, then we can forget about making sure each piece in continuous on its own domain and apply this shortcut. Here I'll show you the quick and easy way to find the value of the constant c that will make the piecewise function continuous for all real numbers.

Damn bruh, if I would have found you 6 yrs ago lol! I hated calc at the time but managed to eek out B’s in calc 1-3 from pure grit instead of getting A’s with decent study habits from instruction like this. I literally caught my calc 3 prof smoking weed in the parking lot, it was just insane.

But the value of 'c' is different when we equate LHL = RHL according to the properties of limits.
The value of c becomes –6 in that case sir🤕.
So what should I do
Should I consider that c has two different values??? 🤔
