"Animal" is a song recorded by English rock band Def Leppard in 1987 from the album Hysteria. It was the first single release off the album, and became the band's first Top 10 hit in their native UK, reaching No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

Another from Def Leppard's huge Hysteria album. "Animal" was the first single released and was a bit of a mixed bag on the charts. It was number 6 in the UK, 19 in the US, 3 Ireland, 8 in New Zealand but a pretty average 46 in Australia. I was able to push my luck a bit more on this one, but their videos really are terrible. I know it's not me as I all I have to do is look at the official channel versions (which are the same but fuzzier and with worse sound). They all seem a little dark and bland, I was very nearly going to start making some light and colour changes but decided not to. Maybe I should of. Oh well, I didn't. Brilliant work!!
This was the first single from Hysteria to hit the charts in my country in 87, and one of many from that album that year.
Probably the most challenging album of their carriers to make/record, especially because of Rick's accident. Also probably one of the biggest lessons in friendship, brotherhood and overcoming seemly impossible odds.
One of the very few albums i bought on cassette in the 80's, only because i couldn't get the LP in stock anywhere, it was always sold out.
Definitely one from my "holly trio" from 87, Hysteria, Whitesnake - 1987, and U2 - The Joshua Tree
