Talk about charming! What a storybook location. It's so bucolic and cute it's hard to believe anything bad happened there.

Awesome location. The town of Appenzell preserved its' historid tradition of public voting in the main public square. They literally have a culture of democracy.

Cow: “Why do I have a hat on my head?” 😂. Don’t try this with a Holstein, she’ll butt you into next week! 😵‍💫

So sweet and quaint. And they make the most delicious sausage and hold yearly festivals where we as students went yearly on field trips. And then...after my youthful experiences in Switzerland Appenzell many years later in USA, I attended a dinner party in where a university professor discussed his research and writings. Oh was shocked to find out the professor had researched odd and unusual eating practices and said the one that shocked him was from Switzerland. WHAT ? Then he went on....and I heard about Appenzell. Oh my ! He said they made sausages out of puppies. How confusing life can become. I knew about other countries where what we consider domestic pets (dogs and cats) were used for meat. Where I had visited for festivals and eaten delicious sausage for years ?? this issue be either clarified or debunked ?
