The gravity law of migration was not invented by Reilley. Reilley just applied the law of retail gravitation. For anyone that needs to quote properly: It was "John Q. Stewart who established the ‘social physics’
school in 1950. However, the gravity‐like properties of internal migration flows had already
been confirmed much earlier by Ravenstein 1885, 1889.
