Action Camera Review - GitUp Git 2

Action Camera Review the GitUp Git2. There is a new budget action camera on the market and I wanted to test one out due to some exciting new features: Image stabilisation, 60 fps at 1080p and even 4K resolution at 24 fps! I have compared the video quality directly with the Hero4 / 3 and the SJ4000 and Sena Prism at the end of the video.

The cheapest I can find these is on Ebay, the cheapest being £88 for the pro version. It will even use the same battery's as the SJ4000 which is rather handy being as I own one of those also!

Just checked and the camera does fit a GoPro case so can avoid the mic issue with the wheel arrangement

Wasn't even aware of this model, and that image stabilisation is fantastic! I'm looking at getting a secondary camera and I think this has just gone top of my list!

Lovely review, chops. I'm surprised how the git 2 stacks up against the others. Verry good quality for a budget camera, especially with that image stabilisation. I would like to see a comparison between these cameras that you have here and the other big name in the action camera industry, which is drift.

Very thorough review, thanks for posting. I need to move up to 1080p60 for my onboard track riding videos, and this looks like a decent option. I might even be able to use the 4K at 24fps when filming my maintenance videos. Thanks for posting!

Nice review LC. Never heard of the GIT before. Looks a cracking bit of kit. I have the base Hero4 (confusingly just called the Hero) and it's "OK" but seems a little washed out image wise and doesn't have the external MIC input or LCD screen which is annoying. Might look at getting the GIT to replace it after watching this. Does the skeleton case fit GoPro mounts too or it that just with the WP case?

The stabilisation looks really good, and colour looks nice too.. For the price it seems a good value, Just a shame it doesnt have the accessible mic socket, would have been great to have a 3.5mm jack on the bottom...

Nice review mate. I'm thinking of replacing my 2nd camera (Hero3 Black) with one of these. I use a Hero 3+ for my primary helmet cam for audio etc, so I just want the 2nd cam for my gimbal on my backpack rig and different mounting points around the bike. The fact that I can use it with my existing GoPro mounts is awesome.
How does this camera perform one year later is what I'd like to know?

Nice video. Regarding microphone, Git2 fits Hero4 case (and other accessories), so mic hole can be solved with Hero4 skeleton case.

I'm looking at budget cameras to replace my hero 3 and thought about the git 2 but I think the jumping would annoy me so may wait for possibly the 3rd edition - I maybe asking too much bearing in mind it's a budget camera and will only be a 2nd angle on the bike - anyways great video as usual

Hey LambChop, MASSIVE question here, in relation to the GoPros, when you said about drilling a hole in the casing to get the external mic in, how does this effect the waterproofness of the camera? As in, riding a motorcycle on rainy days, not like going deep-sea diving, because obviously it won't work but how does the big old hole in the casing fair in normal British weather?

I've been considering doing it for ages, mainly to stop the lens condensing up which is an absolute nightmare, especially faffing with anti-fog inserts.
