Making a Miniature Evil Dead Cabin to Film Cinematically

In this video I make my interpretation of the cabin from Evil Dead for Halloween! After making the structure with foam board I used a ton of balsa wood strips to make it. When I was done I made a small forest scene to film it in!

Nice job! For reference, we did use old barn boards to look like logs for the exterior with the spaces between filled with cement mortar on lathe to fill in. For speed and budget reasons the chimney was carved out of foam glued to plywood and painted. Keep up the good work. Randy Bennett, Art Director, Evil Dead II.

Cool project. I just thought the ground could be flatter since this is close to a house, and the house was used at some point in the past. The ground looks more uneven, like what you see in a crop field. Also, you could have added some vegetation and rocks, maybe.

It looks cool.. The scene would've been the best if a giant Furby came crashing out of the woods.. Wee-tah-kah-loo-loo!!!

If no one has suggested it yet: I think you would do an incredible job of the old, abandoned, decaying dollhouse that Kristen makes in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 of the Elm St house. Several scenes take place inside the house so you could do some of the inside too. You would TOTALLY rock that!!!

I watch your videos and I understand your process and I think I've got things figured out, but the final transformation between the model and the final video floors me every time. I love that each of your videos has a 'magic' moment. Thanks for sharing.

To say this is a solid build is an understatement. That came out fantastic as usual. You keep raising the bar. Cheers!

The hole in the door in the shape of a baby unicorn toped it all off. Great work!
