My Top 10 Garak Lines From DS9!

In this video, I highlight my Top 10 favorite lines delivered by everyone's favorite Cardassian tailor, Elim Garak! I would like to have included the entire clips for the full effect, but alas, one must tread carefully regarding CR!

What are your Top 10 Garak lines?

That's his single greatest line as far as I'm concerned.

Really love the line when Gul Dukut's daughter lavishes him with praise and he says something like "I find your admiration both charming, and alarming"

Elim Garak, a poor, simple Tailor whom nobody seems to understand. Having been a Gardener earlier in his life as well, i did find it interesting that he spent some time on Romulus pursuing his Botanical interests. He is, after all, completely honest in his dealings and i will absolutely take what he says at face value. I don't foresee any complications popping up in his travels and any unfortunate events that do happen to others are merely coincidence.

I believe two lines from the episode "Our Man Bashir" deserve to be included:

1. "Kiss the girl, get the key. They never taught me that in the Obsidian Order."

2. "It appears all these years I've been working for the wrong intelligence service."

And a third from another episode: "I'm delighted to see the plan is going perfectly . . . . What plan? It's simple; first I pretend to be their friend, then I shoot you."

The episode where Quark's Cardassian ex comes to DS9. Quark tells Garak, "if someone hurts her their going to have to deal with me. " Garak responds by saying, "and what are you going to do, short change them at the Dabo Table?"

So many great lines, but I love a scene where Bashir still has questions about his friend Garak, noting that "You've given me answers, but they're all different. What I want to know is, out of all the stories you told me, which ones are true and which ones weren't?"
Garak: "My dear doctor, they're ALL true."
Bashir: "Even the lies?"
Garak: "Especially the lies..."
On a show with so many memorable characters, Garak and Bashir were always fun to watch, always entertaining, always a Byzantine mystery, layer upon layer, like nesting dolls. So much fun.
