While I’m Brooklyn born, I cannot lie my mom moving us to Staten Island back in 2009 was probably the best thing she could’ve done. When I’m in Brooklyn my citizen app goes CRQZY with crime. When I’m in Staten Island it barely goes off. And if it does it’s like “gas odor”

It may have a large Italian American population, but it is also known as being mobbed up! FACT!! Also, it takes an hour and a half to get the hell off the island! I'll stay in Manhattan! ❤

I am tired of the stereo types about Staten Island it’s very strange to me I’ve lived here my entire life it’s safe comparatively affordable to the other boroughs and the commute times are exaggerated. People say there is nothing when there are half a million people on a 14 by 7 mile island . You do not need a car (but it is much easier to have one to get around) here you can find a parking spot owning a car is an impossibility for most other New Yorkers ask people in manhattan and they say bridge and tunnel crowd referring to outer boroughs as if there cooler and then people from Brooklyn and queens make fun of Staten Island. Because it makes them feel better about where they live. As a Staten islander we don’t put any place down most of these commenters that talk badly haven’t been here or lived here and want something to blame for their own unhappy lives. But would have been miserable anywhere they lived

Least amount of people living in poverty? How much? Under 10 million pounds of poor people? Or under 5 million? Just wondering. 🤔

How can Staten Island be the "greenest" borough if it's so car-dependent?

There are beaches on staten island but it's still nyc ocean, not the blue Florida ocean.

That's what happens when you have an area of mostly hard working and family oriented people who depends on themselves and each other instead of hoping big government will solve their problems.
