Azerbaijan’s peace deal can be boiled down to

“We have the stronger military, nobody will save you if we attack. Now sign this peace of paper that gives us everything, and gives you, at least the appearance of choice, before we decide to take more.

Armenians are not protesting a peace deal, they are protesting the government’s acceptance of azeri preconditions without reciprocity from the azeri side. For context, Azerbaijan occupies 200 square kilometres of Armenian land and refused to return the land but threatened war if Armenia didn’t hand over 4 villages. Also Azerbaijan still holds Armenian pows and political prisoners and is demanding a change in the Armenian constitution even though their own constitution explicitly claims Armenian land. The title makes it seem like Armenians don’t want peace when it is the Azeris who don’t want peace.

Them leaving CSTO to join the Western allies is a major big step for Armenia.

The Armenians basically had no choice but to sign the deal. They have no friends to help them and Azerbaijan has the overwhelming military/economic advantage. Either they give in to Azerbaijan's demands or Azerbaijan just invades and takes the land anyways
