This brings back memories. :D
Growing up in Croatia in the early 90's there weren't a lot of international TV channels you could watch.
Fortunately, we had a satellite dish but could only receive 16 german TV channels.
(btw. that's how I learned german, through watching german TV :D)
One of them aired wrestling shows so I would watch WWF/WCW religiously.
My favorites were Razor Ramon, Sting and The Undertaker.
I remember the nWo storyline. Man, that was some great television.

i think the repeating cards make sense so multiple char can do the same common moves, maybe that is balancing? and to fill out the deck

It is slightly chaotic, but that makes it feel like the Royal Rumble. The random characters works thematically as well since it’s part of the event for the crowd to count down to see who the next super star is. Sometimes that’s a highlight. If Macho was dominating and all of a sudden Hogan or Andre’s theme music pops… the place is going nuts.

I was given this for Christmas as a gaming hobbits so I had reservations. The IP? Wrestling? Trying to make it a legitimate board game? My only hope was seeing Ravensburger on the box. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s light, but it works! My brother and his wife do not watch Rasslin but they had a great time with the silliness of the interactions and the clutch cards that did blocks, takeovers, referees and interference by Bobby The Brain and Ms Elisabeth.

The ending is the only thing I adamantly change. Their version fits the theme but not the meta. We’re playing multiple people soooo…

seems like you cant really have a starting or early char actually win the rumble? probably never done in an actual rumble but would be cool if they could rest and heal a little?

Don’t know if Ravensburger will make an expansion or not, but there’s so much potential: The Rock, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat, Arn Anderson, Nikolai Volkoff, Big Boss Man (face), Vader, King Kong Bundy, Edge, Tully Blanchard, Papa Shango, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, John Cena, Tito Santana, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Rikishi, Kane, Earthquake, Texas Tornado, Doink, Michael Hayes, Sgt. Slaughter, Lex Luger, Yokozuna, Rey Mysterio Jr., Brian Pillman, One Man Gang (if they can’t do Akeem), Koko B. They should for sure have a 30 man expansion. I would go with 1. The Rock, 2. HHH, 3. Kane, 4. Rowdy Roddy Piper, 5. Yokozuna, 6. John Cena, 7. Rey Mysterio, 8. Ricky Steamboat, 9. Owen Hart, 10. The Big Show, 11. Vader, 12. CM Punk, 13. Brock Lesnar, 14. Chris Jericho, 15. Chris Benoit, 16. Road Warrior Hawk, 17. Road Warrior Animal, 18. RVD, 19. Sgt. Slaughter, 20. Big John Studd, 21. Unfortunately Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho prolly could never get picked. So replace them with Edge, Earthquake, and Akeem.

The game looks to be geared towards fast eliminations, but with some tweaking, there's not a single match format you couldn't run this game with. One on one, tag, elimination, fatal four way, Survivor Series. Again, with damage modifications as 6 damage goes fast. Maybe an "injured" status where you take a token and have -1 speed on your moves, but then you clear your damage and you have to then take 6+ again while injured.
