So let me start by apologising for the VO audio. I was experimenting with some different mic settings...I won't be doing that again lol. Anyway moving on, which one wins this shootout? Which one would you like to own?

Nice video man, I'm very surprised how good the v20 is, especially for the price, almost half the price of the mate 20 pro, if the v20 had a oled screen I'd definitely I have one sent to the states

View 20 for photographs.... Mate 20 Pro for videos. HOWEVER - the V20 is relatively new and firmware updates could bring better results in the future. The M20 however uses the sensors from the P20 Pro so will have matured firmware out of the box. I do a lot of photo editing, any chance you can see if either phone has RAW photograph output? (I.e, JPEG is compressed), with RAW images, you can colour correct easily, so I would go for clarity above outright colour reproduction.

Interesting results, very 50 50. Some pictures look great on one set and some on other. But V20 did surprise me I have to admit. I believe with slight adjustments Mate 20 Pro would top in photos that came out good on V20 but on auto, it is still impressive work done by V20.

It's the better night mode of the Mate 20 Pro v the better ultra clarity in the V20. You sense you can definitely do more to images in post with ultra clarity but the Mate 20 is a nice point and share deal. Also you get that amazing optical telephoto and wide angle lens that you didn't seem to touch on with the mate 20 in this video ( shame I feel to omit at least a test on the zooms).
The video looked way smoother on the mate 20 and the V20 seemed to stutter horribly. The V20 lacks the better OIS which doesn't rely on any cropping when not mixed with AIS as well with the mate 20.
You have to give it to the mate 20 as the better all round camera but the V20 is very good at it price point .

V20 has better dynamic range and details. But Mate 20 Pro output is more attractive, due to the Leica processing. It doesn't mean it's accurate by the way. It's just more artistic and attractive.

Thanks for the review. I would've loved if you compared photos in Macro modes (assuming that the Honor View 20 has it)

The fact that a single lens, hi res camera on a cheaper mid range phone is almost comparable to a triple lens touting flagship device is the winning factor here.

I clicked because of the thumbnail and this comparison did not disappoint. The View 20 is looking really good. Love the exposure in the gun range on your shirt collar and the back of your neck. Mate 20 Pro for video though especially when walking at night. I've seen some terrible shaking and distortion which could be fixed with software updates. Nice comparison.
