This is a cool way of giving a 2d look. If you want to achieve a 2d look on 3d without highlighting every crease I recommend using the freestyle render with inverted hull method. I used it in my newest animation/review if you want to see what it looks like. Also the animator Worthikids uses it Perfectly.
