I think that Sara and John love each other but they are one of those "love is not always enough" cases. They love each other but want different things from their life, things that are almost completely incompatible with the other desire.
I do believe that Laszlo has a more kindred sould to Sara's. They are much more compatible and do have strong feeling for each other. Sara had even a crush on season one. Laszlo taught that he was too damaged and pushed her away and she let him. I hope in more scenes for them in an eventual third season. If not then someone needs to write about them.

I'm so glad someone sees the potential in these two cause I thought I was the only one! They are developing a deeper emotional connection due to both challenging each other's perspectives/views. This is influencing them to change in how they think and approach situations/life. Its subtle but its there. I'm sure I'm not imagining it lol. But I don't think either one of them realises it. Not yet anyway. I hope they explore this relationship because I find all their scenes alone together so far are filled with tension, intrigue and curiosity. The camera angles are interesting as well. The focus a lot on how they react to each other and so I figured the show is slowly building them up. But maybe they won't since majority of fandom is leaning towards John/Sara. Regardless, thanks for making this lovely video!

I’m so glad I stumbled across this video!! all I keep seeing is John and Sarah shipping videos and I was starting to think I was the only one that shipped Laszlo with Sarah. In season one it was looking like these two were actually going to get together and they had some beautiful moments. I love how there was an equal balance and a shared respect. Sarah was able to open up, truly about her father and vice verser with Laszlo. They would bicker and Sarah was not afraid to speak her mind at times. I loved how Laszlo treated her as an equal and pushed her to her limits because he saw her potential. Even when he slapped her there was tons of chemistry!
My favourite scene between Sarah and Laszlo is after Mary’s death when he opens up to Sarah about what his father really did to him and then Sarah reveals what actually happened to her dad- such a beautiful moment between them that felt like two friends bonding but also two potential lovers. I’m sorry, but I did not see the chemistry with John. I think it was forced. He was always pining over her and making a move. I think by the end of season two Sarah was dealing with Libby and feeling isolated and alone, sleeping with John was more of an urge like she needed to feel something- rather than love. I personally found their love scene awkward and it truly confirmed they were not meant to be. I really hope there will be a season three.

It is important to emphasize that lazlo and sara was not a collective delusion. it's undeniable that they were falling in love in season one, the way they looked at each other, the tension between the two, the way sara was dedicated to knowing everything about him and the way lazlo started drinking whiskey because it was sara's favorite drink. it would be a beautiful love story, but it's the old classic: teenagers, regardless of the plot, for some reason will always prefer the main character to get the hot bad boy for the simple fact that he's the hot bad boy 🙄
