In ASE there were small metal nodes and pearls scattered around in the rivers but i have yet to see any in ASA.
I know for a fact there are pearls around and in the water at red obelisk so >probably< pearls at the other obelisks.

Hide armor is good to carry along with you, if there is a cold snap and you have 2 campfires and a torch you just might live, heat and cold are more severe in ASA so you have to plan ahead for it, not having a tent is much like not having a weapons.

Best tip ever for your tames. Set one on passive and have the others on follow. That way if something comes they can attack and they will always return to the passive dino because they are on follow.
