In this oral history interview, Carol Thompson Cole describes her life story, including experiences at Asbury United Methodist Church, her sense of how Asbury has fit into Washington, DC, history, and her connections with Washington, including her work for a dozen years for Mayor Marion Barry, her time as a member of the Clinton administration and her leadership of Venture Philanthropy Partners.

Asbury United Methodist Church is located at 11th and K Streets, NW, in Washington. Its worship services are on Sundays at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; and at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
