I am a security guard at a hospital and my advice is to keep circling around so you don't block people behind you. Also be patient because a lot of people are picking up and dropping off patients in wheelchairs and this can take a lot of time to load and unload.

There's a lot of this gig app stuff and it's good to start off but I think people should be looking to start their own businesses doing this.

I waited over two years to get activated lol finally I am ready to start driving for them. I start my ride along training day this Thursday March 2024. I can’t wait.

I absolutely love Dropoff. They don't oversaturate and pay their drivers well. Their drivers are so happy that there are rarely openings and that's why so many can't get activated. Best to come through another driver referral.

You're way over complicating medical courier work with the questions.

Dropoff is not just medical courier deliveries. They deliver much more.

Making $252 for 200 miles is good, if your driving a 4cyl or 6cyl engine that is getting 25-35 mpg only takes around $50 to fill up and get over 400 miles a tank, now that your on a half tank after 200 miles, put $25 in it to fill it up again, now those 200 miles are costing you $25 "cheers"

One might also be able to use the car's expenses when filling for taxes...Examples are: Depreciation of car due to increasing mileage, gas, oil change, tires, repairs and tune-ups, insurance, registration fees, mileage ran through the one year tax period... Best to keep in mind to track all these diligently, because the car will also be used for personal activities, which it will be split in the taxes application. But lets say you used you car starting at mile (whatever one might have on the car's dashboard) - write it down to start and then write the time and date then the ending mileage for that ran. Then when used for personal just write miles down... That will differentiate from your time using the car for personal and when using for the job. Send the tracking pages of expenses as supporting document of the work you did for X company/ies etc...along with your taxes application.

So I work for Advance Auto Parts, we use a service called PACE to deliver auto parts from our hub store on a route system for the whole day like a day job but they are contract drivers. They can do a route from twice a day to as many as 5 times a day to the same stores each route. The only problem is that they are seemed to treated as regular employees not contracted drivers. The routes are timed with set pickup and drop off at each location. I believe they get paid with or without product delivered, just run it to get paid. The weights of product can go to light to very heavy cases of product or batteries. You never know until departure time from the hub. There doesn't seem to be a lack of pay that drivers always seem to return the next day lol. I will say this though you need to be somewhat fit for this to pickup some heavy items from time to time.

Instacart is taking 13 months and counting to onboard me — something really sucks with the waitlists in the Orange County, California market.

I am set up to buy a Cargo Van so I can use it for the Dispatch App and any other apps. The van is a 1992 Ford 250 in mint condition with 74, 000 miles. But I am afraid some apps might not take it. What is the oldest year that Curri will accept? Please let me know.

I'm a medical courier that picks up in South Denver and usually delivers in Northern Colorado, but I often go to Wyoming or Nebraska too.

Suggestion not dictation but if your dropping go to shipping/receiving where the semi/box truck deliver. There’s parking in those areas so you won’t be in the way.

Will they do this in Anderson South Carolina

Additionally, a lot of medical courier gigs are scheduled routes that don't offer the flexibility of working whenever you want.

One of the things I don't like about courier work is that sometimes the customer wants you to go a long way to pick up from them, without pay. You get paid only to bring their stuff back. I won't do those. The time I spend getting there unpaid could be used to get paid doing something else. If someone wants me to take something from Cincinnati, where I live, to Pittsburgh, that's fine, I'll do that. Then when I'm done I can go anywhere and do anything on my own dime. But if you want me to drive to Pittsburgh just to bring something back to Cincinnati, you're gonna have to pay me both ways.

I think if you arrive in courier-branded vehicle then the security guards are more likely to leave you alone. I used to work for such a company also in Pittsburgh and parking became a non-issue for the most part (assuming you didn't block anyone in). I suggest getting magnetized car door signs if you plan to do it long-term.
