The new Scania R-series, Living in the cab

Spent my very first night in a truck this week, in one of these cabs a Scania R440. I must say I had a lovely sleep on that bed, I bought all new bedding and duvet to fit a single bed and it fit perfectly. Back out again next week for 3 nights and I'm looking forward to it.

I've been sleeping on one of these beds for the last 8 years and it has always been supremely comfortable, in fact my company offered me either a new Volvo or Scania to replace it this year, i chose the Scania because the Volvo bed is rubbish in comparison. She has ALWAYS got me home too, never broken down in 8 years.

Wish we could have Scania R & S series here in the states :( ..love my Pete's & Kenworths but Scania is a bad ass truck! Scania S730 with a "Longline" sleeper, OMG I'd be top of the world

Scania you have the best trucks ever made and always reliable they never let you down expecily in -21 degree's weather it still starts up perfectly where as other truck's dont start up even after 15 start's. Scania are best for driving, design, comfort, apperance. Top 2 favorite (1) Scania (2) Volvo. Scania keep up the amazing work on ur trucks ul be amazed on how many people love ur trucks ad say about 85% of the trucking population prefer you it would be great if it made 100%

Scania is without a doubt the most beautifull and powerfull truck on the road these days... But that's a matter of taste I think ;)

you shouldn't forget that we have both an ice road in Europe as well and that any european winter tests are done on the ice of Swedish and Finish lakes

nice work guys a happy worker is a good worker & to all da drivers in the US these trucks cabs r not as big as u guys r use 2 but in the rest of the world its da norm & after a long day a comfy bed makes a lot of differents big or small

The American vs European truck argument is silly. If you took elements from both you could build a truly luxurious truck.
Cabovers handle like a dream, cascadia's are pretty much a studio apartment.

Yes, it's VERY difficult to import a truck into the United States due to Government regulations. The EPA REQUIRES all trucks meet the extremely tough US emissions requirements. Then there's the import taxes and the costs of modifying the trucks to meet US safety requirements.

Many manufacturers have found it cheaper to build the US versions of the trucks here in the US and avoid importing at all costs.
