The great thing about the timeline is that it doesn’t tell us about the fate of Earth. Leave it as a mystery until the game’s release.

The United Colonies sounds a lot like the UEE in Star Citizen, same two-tiered system between ordinary civilians & “citizens” who served in the military.

No mention of who or how Grav drives were invented. Seems a pretty big omission. I expect them to be coy about Earth, but more should be said about a reality bending technology. A simple entry like "Dr. Snorgelfritz invents the Grav drive."

Also, the former cowboy's last name is Coe. Wonder if there is relation to Akila City's founder.

Some people are just negative. You can’t always take what they say at face value unless they give reasons why they feel that way.

New Atlantis is a city... not a planet. 🙂

The Mars trip should have been pushed back to 2070-2100 if you base it off the real world and we don’t have a massive world war (which we will). So, that date range is where I would have started. Technological leaps can definitely happen, especially under a New World Order where we have one world government that controls all the nations on Earth, and there is a focus to explore space.

I feel that 2050 is a bit too close given the current state of the world, but Starfield’s timeline may not be based on ours.

(erased, already mentioned below)

Interesting that it's assumed we can get humans to another solar system less than 140 years from now.
