Yesterday I've watched while having dinner the Apollo 16 deep space EVA with Mattingly retrieving experiments from the service module while being filmed by Duke with a 16 mm cam. The definition was outstanding.

Today I watch HD footage of a close flight of the Moon by Orion.

I feel lucky to be here to witness the Artemis Program.

For everyone asking why didn't this take images of the landing sites, please visit the lunar reconnoissance orbiter (LRO) page at NASA and you'll find those pictures there.

These cameras were not designed to capture images like that from 100 miles away, just like your eyes can't resolve a flag from 100 miles away!!

The LRO got as close as 20km (13 miles) above the landing sites to photograph them!

The clearer images really help with depth & perspective on the lunar surface. I remember as a kid watching Apollo and seeing craters as domes instead of depressions. I'd have to consciously "flip" them.
But with the footage above I'm finding it difficult to "flip" them at all.

This whole project has filled me with awe and enthusiasm! These are the things we can do when we work together as fellow human beings. I've always felt a sense of peace and wonder whenever I see the Moon. To think that my children and/or grandchildren may someday walk upon its surface is truly amazing and inspiring! May we take the lessons we've learned through thousands of years of hate, war, and waste, and provide for ourselves and our posterity a better future on the face of our beautiful, one and only, beloved Moon!

All that time and money and the camera has its focus point set on the craft...seen better from personal cameras shooting the moon from earth

Amazing view of moon'g craters? I can see better views of the moon from home using a $200 back yard scope. I haven't see any good videos from this new amazing space craft yet. you can at least add some CGI and pretend you can get better phots than I can from my back yard
