Missed the "live" ...thank goodness it's here to watch "later"...I enjoy the chickens...we had them on the farm back in the day when I was a "young 'un" 70 some yrs love memories!!!

Growing up with chickens, supposedly what makes the egg yolks orange is green grass and cracked corn. As an adult, I've not had chickens to put this theory of my Mother's to the test. You could try it, especially the cracked corn.

Awe I missed the last cooped up (gonna watch this weekend when I can relax and enjoy) But the new girls look great. As nice, or not, as wherever you got them from they were probably crowded, stressed, and not fed as well as you and Ashley feed the girls. They are now living in chicken luxury lol

I can’t believe I missed you again but so glad for the update. It is great to see all the chickens again. I absolutely love to see the dogs and did ask about Sandy. So sad that he died but I am glad he seemed to be enjoying a comfy life indoors for at least a little while. Did you keep the fancy gate/door you put in for him? That was so cool.

Maybe try tempting them up the ramp with some feed? I'm sure they'll catch on.

My husband gives our chickens crawfish shells when we finish eating the crawfish and the yolks are bright red to orange for a time.

Maybe the chickens just don’t know how to climb after being locked up in cages and the barn. . We rescued some battery hens once and had to teach them how to walk around. It took a while.

I would be a bit reluctant to give the dogs raw eggs, especially with the shells on. Are they able to get into the chicken coupe to take eggs if they want to?
