I still have days when I get angry and depressed about the ongoing pain I endure from my back being broken in an IED blast. I recognize that I’m feeling sorry for myself and give myself a time limit. It’s usually about 30 min then I get my ass up and get busy doing something because I know I’m blessed to still be alive and since I’m still here, my purpose in this world isn’t complete
Yet! Like my DS used to say “suck it up and drive on” and “fake it till ya make it” never thought those corny sayings were going to help me 18 years later recovering mentally from 4 combat tours! God bless DS Harris!
